Chongqing ~ Shanghai (Downstream 7days / 6 Nights)
Day 1 Depart Chongqing / Fengdu
10:00am depart Chongqing.
Take a shore excursion to Fegndu, visiting either the "Ghost City", known for its statues of ghosts and devils on Mingshan Hill, or the new relocation village, built for families who have moved as a result of the Yangtze's rising waters brought about by the Three Gorges Dam. (L/D)
Day 2 Enter the Three Gorges / Daning River Small Gorges / Shiplocks
Enter the Three Gorges, one of nature’s most extraordinary sculptures. Today you will pass through the first two—Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge. Qutang Gorge is the shortest (5 miles), narrowest (500 feet), and most dramatic. The 25-mile long Wu Gorge is known for its known for its quiet beauty, forest-covered mountains and cliffs so sheer that the sun barely penetrates the precipices. Take an excursion through the Daning River Small Gorges, which are narrower than Three Gorges, but very impressive. (Depending on river conditions, an alternate excursion may be substituted to Shennong Stream, which has its own attractive gorges.) In the evening, sail through the Three Gorges Sam ship locks. Day 3 Three Gorges Dam / Yichang
Morning visit to the Three Gorges Dam in Xiling Gorges, the largest in the world. (B/L/D)
Day 4 Wuhan
Afternoon excursion of Wuhan, capital of Hubei Province. Visit the Hubei Provincial Museum. (B/L/D)
Day 5 Huangshan
Full day excursion to Huangshan, one of China’s most famous mountain ranges. Travel to this royal retreat through some of the country’s most scenic rural areas. (Jiuhuashan or “Mountain of the Nine Lotuses” may be substituted if weather or road conditions do not permit a visit to Huangshan.) (B/L/D)
Day 6 Nanjing
Visit Nanjing, where you will tour the Sun Yat-sen Memorial and a Qing Dynasty style bazaar surrounding a Confucian Temple. (B/L/D)
Day 7 Arrive Shanghai
Arrive Shanghai at 08:00am, China’s dynamic international commercial center. (B)
Shanghai ~ Chongqing (Upstream 9 days / 8 Nights)
Day 1 Depart Shanghai
Sail today from Shanghai at 17:00pm, China’s dynamic international commercial center. (D)
Day 2 Nanjing

This morning, sail through Gezhou Dam near Yichang. In the afternoon, visit the Three Gorges Dam, the largest in the world. Sail through Xiling Gorge, the longest (41 miles), and the deepest of the Three Gorges. Later today, enter the Three Gorges Dam ship locks. (B/L/D)
Day 7 Wu Gorge / Qutang Gorge / Daning River “Small Gorges”
